Our Spanish School In Sámara Beach
STUDY SPANISH ON THE BEACH
Costa Rica’s only Spanish immersion school directly on the beach.
Intercultura’s Sámara campus is—literally—right on the beach. Our custom-built school sits directly on the sand, with a gate that opens onto the beach and no road between the classrooms and the ocean. You can finish a Spanish class and be barefoot on the beach minutes later. Outside class, there’s plenty to do: swim in the calm waters, learn to surf, walk along the shore, play soccer or volleyball, or relax in one of our beachfront hammocks with friends. Sámara is a small, friendly beach town where everything is within walking distance, so it’s easy to grab a coffee, meet up with friends, explore the town, and practice your Spanish along the way. Here, Spanish is not just something you study in a classroom. It becomes part of your day—as you chat with classmates, take part in cultural activities, explore Sámara, and spend time by the ocean. It’s a place where learning and life naturally happen side by side.
Playa Sámara

“Thank you again for an amazing week, I want to come back! I’m a journalist and I live in Mexico City. Because of my job, I have to do interviews with Spanish speakers in all the stories I do, so it is important that my Spanish is very good. My week in Playa Sámara has been very valuable in improving my speaking and listening skills and perfecting complex conjugations. The instructors are very friendly and fun and the school is a real community of people from all over who want to learn not only the language but also the culture of Costa Rica. I recommend that you come soon!”
